Why wouldn't you? I pull i build these in 7 hours flat. This guy gunna have alot more time in it then that. MTS in Omaha sells these converters for 120.00 bucks. cheap insurance for him. At the shop here (GM Dealer) i RARELY replace converters cuz i m overhaulin units with less then 100k on them. some only have 10k on them. And GM doesnt want 600.00 converters throw at every overhaul. At 228000, its time.
As far as the Pressure control solenoid goes, when you have a clutch failure that solenoid acts like a magnet and collects all the faris meterial and can affect line pressure. Again, just CYA for him. His best bet is to buy a Cerified Transmission replacment.
