By law the 1st insurance company has to pay for the initial damages. The 2nd one has to pay for the damage caused by the 2nd accident. And you will caught in the middle because now the 2 companies are going to fight. The 1st one is going to claim that they paid 4K and that is what they owe and any further damage is company #2 problem. Claim it under your insurance and get the other 2 companies to pay the deductable.
