You need a different internet provider (although I realize there may be only one available where you are). Mine will do free phone-in tech stuff, even if it has nothing to do with their internet service.
I am using a 10 year old version of Word, and it won't accept emailed docx files. Called Compprime, and the guy says "We got a patch for that- I'll put it on a disc for you- stop by and pick it up. We charge a buck for that, to help cover costs." When I picked it up, he said to feel free to call and he'd talk me through it.
