The Snopes article examples are of the filing false reports to get a response- and avoid the basis of followup to original ignored complaint by use of lethal force to stop neighboring felony. Note the date of Snopes response has ignored the Texas case where neighbor to burglary victim did use lethal force to stop the criminals-- and was NOT charged with any crime as Texas Castle doctrine law was in effect. Localy a few we can't respond now calls have gotten the response- OK, I'll have to shoot them myself and then suddenly the Sherrif or neighboring towns police show up to grab burglar or dope dealer. One callers police reputation is X military MP with a dozen killed in commission of felony bodies to his credit- and only about 3/4 while in military, rest during retirement civilian life. Made for a very peaceful neighborhood, sherrif put him on posse call list. Snopes is known for occasionanly bias, lack of investigation. RN
