Once Saturday afternoon at the super hooch in Korea, myself and a fellow medic were walking along when I noticed one of our troops with a bandage on his arm. We stopped to see what happened since I just came from the aid station and hadn't noticed him. Turns out he had just got a tattoo that morning and was told to keep the bandages on for a while. He was proud though and wanted to show us. He peeled off the bandage in just a little bit of pain and there was a cool looking eagle holding a banner in it's talons that said U.S. Amry! Not Army, but Amry. Lol! He hadn't even noticed yet and I even had to look down at my uniform to make sure I was seeing that right. ...and then shared my discovery with the poor guy! Such a sad moment for him.
