tlak, Most all stucco is now done with stucco(small hole) wire nailed right over the waterproof paper. The old "Chicken" wire was used with "Stand off" buttons to keep the wire off the waterproof paper, It uses to much material that way so the New type of wire is now used! And most of the new system is much thinner, as it's done with one coating of material. In my opinion, The old 3 course system is best, First coat(Scratch) second coat (brown) and third coat is the color coat. Total of about 1" as opposed to 3/8" HTH Jim in N M
