on I-10 west out of Flagstaff I was in solid traffic in the outside lane. A car (Ranchero) was to my left in the inside lane. I noticed it was smoking from the left front wheel well. I was trapped in the lane so I had no choice but to continue.
The driver pulled into the median strip (followed by the 18 wheeler in a cabover Pete.) The truck driver slid to a stop 20 feet behind the Ford and jumped out with a 20pounder, ran forward just as the Ford driver got out of the car. In my rear view mirror, I saw that fire put out (it was all in the area of 35 seconds! I could not get any markings off of the truck, but I retell the story to remind people that there are superheros in fact. Jim
