Same thing happened near Fargo. Transport company from Calif. was transporting prisoners and stopped at rest area and left cage unlocked. Fugitive run into 500 acre corn field and they tried flushing him with airplanes and helecopters with no luck. The following day the farmer lined up 9 combines and started working the field with a deputy riding along.( They liked that duty) The fugitive come running out. He said he bolted because the transport people were vegetarians and only would give hime bread and peanut butter to eat! He said he thought that the law over reacted.
