Triple sided duals will work fine... but I'd expect them to be a bear to install. All we ever run on tandems around here is a set of singles on the outside dual. You could run a full length dual right across the set... but if one of those crosses break... and go haywire... can do a LOT of damage. That's the main reason for running the single set on the outside. They're also lighter and easier to install. Just get the quick hooks for the inside and a good clasp for the outside. You can probably make them up yourself from better quality chain for about the same money as buying the cheap ones...
