I have 3 gate stalls on one side of my small barn, they are 10X12. the barn is just 24X30 with the East side open. I use Lime rock chips 5/8 size (same size they use as blotter for oil roads). Put a couple buckets from a small JD in each stall. When it gets nasty I clean it out with the JD and put more rock back. keeps the barn clean and dry. Also they track rock out and it is not muddy getting into and out of the barn. I have did this for 20 yrs and you can walk out there in the winter in your shoes. Also I rocked the pad before they built it, about 6 to 8 in deep. Vic
