LOL really about the only time the government can track you because of sheer numbers is when they have reason to. Lets say they tract your vehicle with on star to the vicinity of a crime scene. They still have to prove it was you in the vehicle and then you that commited the crime. The tracking devices they can put on you car can be tracked locally which means that they can tail you without getting caught at it. Then through eyes on they can place you and your vehicle at a crime scene.
Just cause they alway catch the bad guy on CIS in less than an hour every week don't make it so. Go look at the FBI's most wanted list.....some of these people have been fugitives for years and even with all this tracking stuff they can't find em much less catch em!
I'm more concerned that onstar is selling info on peoples movements. If I had an onstar vehicle I'd do things like park in a red light district once a week for hours, then at the chruch. I'd park at wally world and catch a ride to target...anything to mess with thier data.
