We had a trailer stolen from a job site in Tulsa loaded with pipe and valves (about 40K worth). The next day I called all the local scrap yards and found the one that he sold the pipe - at scrap price.
The scrap yard took the guy's name, copied his DL and wrote down his tag number. We picked up the pipe (bought back at scrap price) and called the police with the information. They said they didn't have time to look for him.
We're out $800 and the trailer and the police still haven't bother to look the guy up. That was 3 months ago.
