In my opinion most of the brouhaha over Monsanto all boils down to SOME farmers signing a contract with Monsanto agreeing to certain conditions, mainly NOT TO SAVE SEED for future planting, and then breaking that contract by saving seed and planting it thus excluding Monsanto from development monies recovery, etc.
I fully blame a few lying, cheating, slimy, farmers for bringing almost all of the ill will to Monsanto that is ongoing.
Just as spoiled kids do they whimpered and whined and stomped their feet and told anybody that would listen that Monsanto was evil. They left out the part about their breaking a legal contract just as a lying child would do.
I'm not saying Monsanto is squeaky clean, but if they use tactics that some would consider dirty pool consider their millions upon millions of dollars invested in research that they are simply trying to protect.
They are one of the few companies that continues to invest heavily in research and should be allowed reward for their efforts.
I have used Monsanto seed and products and have never had any issue with them. I do have issues with groups that spread lies and half truths and don't even have a clue about what they speak of.
