if you wanted something that looks more how shall we say stock or period,go to a tractor salvage yard and buy one of the metal backs off a seat.most tractors originaly offered them as an option, and they can be just bolted on many of them.the reason you dont see a lot of them,is simply because we were pulling drag type equipment a lot of the time and they got in the way,or you cracked your elbow on them reaching for a trip rope.next time your at a farm auction watch the junk piles ,lots of them were taken off and youll find them nearly new once in a while.seat backs are really nice for a loader tractor or something that worked off the front, but if you are like me and look back half the time they can get in the way.
