I remember best the first day of winter in 1998. We had a very mild November, & December. Temps in the 50's, & 60's almost all fall. I worked part time for FedEx at Indianapolis Intl Airport outside off loading / loading aircraft. It was 66, or 68 degrees (cant remember exactly) before dark. I was in a t-shirt that afternoon. By 10p.m. it was 40 with heavy rain. By midnight upper 20's with heavy freezing rain. Winter began about 1:30 a.m. By 3a.m. 3 - 4 inches of ice, & medium snowfall + 30 -40mph winds with a temp near 15 degrees. Makes me shiver just thinking about it! When winter came in that year; It came with a vengence!
