Been there, done that. The ONLY time I still use the big charger is to start something with a DEAD battery.
Otherwise I just hook one of my little Deltran brand Battery Tenders to the battery and forget about it. They will not ever overcharge a battery.
The lights on it are red when you start charging, then will eventually start blinking green as charge is nearly done, then stay a solid green at fully charged.
I usually keep one battery hooked to the little Tender all the time, so if I do have a dead battery in something all I need to do is grab the fully charged battery and put the dead one on the Tender.
The little one is a 750mA. You can buy them on eBay for $25 or less all the time. They are worth every penny. DOUG
