My Father farmed 120 arces in the 1950's thru the early 1970's with 2 tractors, a 1948 Ford 8N and a 1949 John Deere B. He had a 2 bottom plow with each, but would use the Ford 8N exclusively for plowing. I heard that the Ford was made to plow one acre per hour. Would the John Deere B have done as much and which one would have used the least amount of fuel. The first photo is my Aunt on the new 8N with 2 bottom plow. She was 17 at the time. The second photo is my Dad on his B that I restored.
