We had to get satellite internet for the same reasons. Was always dissatisified with it for the price, but it was a tad better than dial-up. I kept ordering DSL from the phone co. If you order it like every month, even though you know you can't get it, it goes into the petition. When enough requests for it is received, you will get it. I always reminded all the neighbors to call and ask for it, whether they wanted it or not. Finally we got it into our little neck of the woods. It was a joyous day when I was able to cancel the satellite internet service.
