Most likely the first number will be a "6" an "8", depending where it was made.Small Rock Island tractor would be a "6" and larger tractors would be an "8" made in Racine. The model can not be determined by serial number, as Case used blocks of numbers on all tractors and implements.
Is it possible you are reading this number off an attachment on the tractor, such as a loader? This could be a possibility. Tractor tag will be an aluminum plate on the instrument panel in front of the driver.
