Take your 23,400 and divied that by 2240lbs and that will be your gross ton. The mills do this so they basicly get something for nothing. They say it's because that's how it's sold on the world market. I have to explain this all the time to customers for the scrap company I work for when the math dosen't add up. I personaly like the old 2000lbs way better easier to do the math.
