Gene I am guessing you have a cross bow permit for deer hunting right?? I to have one. They are now making a lot of cross b9ows that are a good bit light then the old ones. I know my Barnett quad 300 is a heavy one but have a friend who just got a new one and it is only about half what the quad 300 is so you might check that out. Even saw in a magazine one based on the stock of the AR15 and is said to be under 8 lbs
