Yes, they should be strapped. No, it's not fun trying to throw a strap over the top of a load of round bales if they are stacked 2 high. To get the strap over the crown of the top bale someone almost has to be crawling around on the bales to place the strap. The crawler has to be young and athletic and a daredevil to say the least. If it's windy it's even harder. And if it's full sized round bales the bales are hanging over the edge of the trailer making it hard to hook the strap to the rub rail if plain old straps with hooks are used. So that's why you don't see round bales strapped down on semi trailers. Square bales aren't nearly as challenging. Jim
