Basically the USA will have to go through a serious transformation, like another great depression, with real high inflation, not deflation. I think that the USA is in as bad as shape as we were in the great depression of the 30s. The major difference is that there are a lot of welfare/unemployment/food stamp programs that support the non-working man. "Real" unemployment is likely 25%, not the BS numbers that the federal government puts out to make you feel good. I just read on Monday that the state of Michigan will save many millions of dollars per year by not giving college students food stamps. That sounds messed up.....you have the money to go to college, but.....you receive food stamps.
