By mid October most of the shows have already gone! That time of year in Northern, IN they can have heavy frost, & might even get what they call "Lake Effect Snow". Hideous amounts of snowfall caused by cold air rolling over lakes Michigan, & Erie which still have warm water. Mid October is still early; But not terribly ab-normal. & Buffalo, NY or somewhere in the area last year had something like 80 - 100 inches of snow for the year! It probably started snowing in early October! I am sure You can find weather statistics on the net.
