I think I got it figured out. I started to take down the rear grive and noticed that the axle nut holding the wheel on next to the rear gears was loose and backe off. So I bleieve this was barely making contact and when under a load, it would not stay meshed with the other gears. I took it all down and the gears look great. I think I will be in good shape. I had some broken bolts on the housing so I will put it all back together tonight. It is a 4 speed ttansmission speed 1,2,3 and rev. Would you happen to know a way to figure out the year it was made?
