Bought one a few years back and have had really good luck with it so far. Agree with Rod that you need enough hydraulic pressure to make a half-way decent bale. Not as fancy as some of the newer balers, but gets the job done with few problems. Only issue i"ve had is with the twine mechanism. Unless the knife is razor sharp and the holder placed just right (info I gleaned from RodInNS), it won"t cut the twine worth a darn. I know the newer ones don"t have this issue, but it is in the only problem my 44s gives me. It"s good having enough power in front of it, too. I run an IH986 (approx 105hp) and it is a nice match.
