I tried the trap thing several times with multiple types bait and no success. Also tried antifreeze with soda and marshmellows which apparently didn't work. Don't own a gun so fly bait and soda becomes the gold standard. Never found a dead one but the problems seem to disappear. Not interested in personally testing it, but if you want to catch a plane and arrive in Chicago, I might be able to provide transportation so you can experiment.
