Yup, back when we baled all those little idiot cubes(10,000-30,000 per year) you grease the zerks on the knotters one pump every 1000 bales. NO more No less. And no extra grease or oil anywhere else on the knotters. Keep the knotters out of the weather when not in use.
We never had many problems other than a when new ball of twine went thru. Then we learn to roll the connecting knot between your hands (similar to rolling a stick to start a fire) and put just a little grease on the ball connecting knot. That eliminated most of the problems with the splice knots as well.
