I had to replace the engine this winter because the oil pump pickup screen became blocked with sludge. 133,000 miles.The 4.7 had major sludge problems. Do a Google search for jeep 4.7 sludge. Also the a/c -heater blend door acuator hinge pins break and the doors will not respond to switch form heat mode to a/c mode. Expensive fix if done at dealer or shop, about 1,000 dollars. There is a simple fix for about 150. dollars. It is called The Heater Treater and you can do the job yourself.
