Another part of the equation is 'creature comfort.' How conforable were you while you're waiting 2 or 3 hours for the temperature to come down? I was out of town last week and turned the AC off. When I came home about 1830 the house was 95, the same as outside. It took my system over 4 hours to bring it down to 79 and kept running often and long all night so it was a long sweaty night. My experence with AC is don't change it at all because the heat is more difficult to tolerate.
