The block can probably be repaired... There are engine machine shops that specialize in cast repair. Probably best to ask around your local area with engine rebuilders. They would likely know where to send it. I know there is/was an outfit in the Montreal area that does this work though I don't know off hand what their name is. I could find out if you're really stuck and can't find someone closer.
