dave2, thanks for the memories! When in the Army, in Germany, in the 60's, (5 Marks,20pf to the $) we took a trip on back roads in France. Most of the houses had the barn downstairs, at road level the farmers lived upstairs, right over the barn, and there were piles of manure right out side of the house/barn front door, by the road. We went from Frankfurt to Strassburg,to Ludwigshoffen, to Frankfurt, and I don't recall going through or seeing "Customs", but maybe we were "Waved" through" due to USA plates on out Opel.
