i use a trolling deer fly trap. its a blue plastic anti freeze jug coated with sticky trap glue. gemplers sells the glue. coat the jug, put it on a stick and mount it above your head level. as long as the trap is moving, the deer flys attack it. i have two mounted on my golf cart an it is amazing how many flies you catch. the deer fly is an ambush predator. it attacks any moving object and tries to attack from above. they are especially attracted to the color blue. the bright blue disposable plastic cups also work good (keg party cups) farm and fleet sometimes carries the trap glue too.
