I had the moco hooked to a tractor, wagons sitting along the edge of the field, baler greased and ready, new teeth on the rake, and said a prayer for my old tedder. I was gonna start cutting yesterday, but it was just too flippin' hot, even with an air conditioned cab. Weather guessers said we had a 20% to 30% chance of isolated pop up thunder showers. Heat and prospect of rain made me decided to wait a day or two.
Good call.
The "isolated pop up thunder showers" turned into 4 hours of driving rain, intense lightning, and a good bit of wind. We ended up having 3" of rain in that 4 hours. It did break the intense heat and humidity though.
Yesterday, when I woke up @ 4AM, it was 77 degrees. Made it to 94 by 6AM....! 101 (on my back porch) by 2PM. Humidity was above 80%, dew point 79 degrees, and NO breeze at all. Should have known with conditions like that it HAD to storm. 73 this morning and that feels like winter compared to yesterday.
