In your place, i'd put together a couple sammiches and a jug of water and have someone take you to pick the tractor up and drive it home. The guy may not be a crook at all, just having a good run of business with normal paying customers.........oooooorrrrrrrrrrrr........... promised you a sweet deal so he'd have your stuff there in case of a slump at which time he could make up for lost business???
either way, I'd pay the bill and pick up the tractor and not be real optomistic about it being a longterm fix......
