Finally got done with first cutting tonight! Given how things are in a lot of the country,I'd be feeling great if it wasn't for the date on the calendar. Yield was super. I haven't even stopped to figure how many round bales total, but I can get 70-75 with a bale of twine and I was in my 12th bale when I got done,so I'm guessing near 800 or so. I don't remember the last time I got done this late. Probably before I sold the square baler in 81. It sure wasn't without problems though, even not factoring the weather. Had a sensor acting up on the baler and the last 2 days, the monitor didn't work at all,had to run it manually, then the compressor took a crap on the AC on the tractor today,so that made for one miserable experience. I raked 23 acres this morning, rolled 132 bales this afternoon and evening, but it's done! Now,I'll be at least a week getting it hauled off. Sure need a vacation, but I don't think I'm gonna get one. Got some late silage corn needing some roundup tomorrow before I do anything else. Seems there's never a break. Could be a whole lot worse though as a lot of you know,a WHOLE lot worse.
