3 times a year and the boil furnace is checked for emission/efficiency once a year. The stove inspection is usually just asking you if everything is OK or if you have any questions or switched stoves since the last visit (if so, it gets a going over) unless they see something drastic in the chimney. They have a secure job because every house has at least one chimney and the older ones several (3 for ours) because of each room having some type of heat. Cost is not the world and it makes fire insurance cheap (and you wouldn't get insured without a chimney sweep anyway).
