Simple things first.. do you have good flow to the lift pump...are the fuel filters clean,...is the vent on the fuel tank or cap clogged not allowing the tank to vent which will eventually cause the engine to starve for fuel? If you suspect it is sucking air, install a piece of clear plastic line in the return to the tank from the Injector pump...if you see bubbles in this line it has an air leak somewhere. Another possibility is the return fitting on the injection pump is clogged with debris or pieces of the governor ring which will give you the same symptoms. When it shuts off and sits for a minute or two it relieves pressure in the Injector pump and allows it to restart.
