I've never hit one, but I've heard disgusting stories about cleaning them out of the reels on haybines. I almost got one a couple of weeks ago. The hay was quite a bit taller than the fawn so I don't know if he was running in front of the mower or he just hopped up, but just as I came to the end of a pass it bolted out into open ground about 2 ft in front of the discbine running along at about 5mph. One stumble and he would have been bits. I imagine there wouldn't have been much cleaning to do though since it's an impeller model.
