I picked up a running gear at an auction that has a slight bow in the rear I-beam axle. It looks like someone was hauling a heavy load and trying to straddle some projection like a stump. Anyways, the rear axle needs to be pushed towards the front by about 3 inches to stop it from dog-tracking on me. The rear axle has the standard welded support on each side, meeting at he reach. I was thinking of cutting off one support and then re-welding it once I get the I-beam straightened. Would you use heat on the I-beam? How would you do it? Thanks
