Local Amish, (Western wisconsin) have hydraulic brakes on their buggys. A Junk yard master cylinder and brake pedel and linkage, and drum brakes on the rear wheels. I don't know where they get the drums, but it looks like go-cart or trailer parts. And Electric Stop/tail lights, battery operated. They use a small lawnmower battery, and a Harbor freight type solar charger on the corn crib or chicken koop, out of sight, but every- one knows that they have them.
