Back when I was actively selling on fleabay I occasionally needed to do this.
Best way is to get associated with a couple of LTL (Less than Truck Load) carriers. You don't need a depot close by just make sure the trucks are working in your area. I used Lakeville mostly.
It is best to find one that has a dispatcher you can talk to on the phone. Classes of freight are crucial. Depends on the item but different stuff will have different classes. It helps to have a fork lift to load and it is helpful for your customers to have a business with forktruck to unload on the other end. I use the local elevator when I am receiving shipments.
You should be able to schedule pickup down to the day at least.
I have used a local trucking firm who added a garden tractor to a load but you need a customer who is set up on the other end or it can be a huge PIA for the driver, don't ask how I know this.
