I would rate Eric Johnson, Chet Atkins, many of the Funk Brothers, Bo Diddley, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Jerry Reed (Yes, The Snowman), Mark Knopfler and even Angus Young are just as good as Joe, and I believe better than him. And there are others. I do believe the druggie and boozer Eric Clapton isn't the greatest, as people make him out to be.
As for Springsteen sucks, why or how? Have you ever listened to the Nebraska or the Darkness on the Edge of Town albums? Or listen to Dylan's lyrics, don't just hear them.
