Not just that side of the pond either. Having had the coldest (and indeed, one of the snowiest ) winters on record we have just had the driest spring on record. We had some rain recently which of course was very welcome but it came far too late to save many barley crops and hay / silage crops, especially on light land. A friend of mine was telling me about his peas. The plants look healthy, with hardly a yellow leaf on them and they are full of pods, but when you pop one open there are little or no peas inside.
