The White dealer I worked for sold both Hesston, and New Holland. The Hesston conditioner rolls are narrower, the NH 499 has 9ft. rolls. The Hesston reel has less moving parts the 499. If you go to a 1014+2 you get the double knife like the NH. Mowed with both, the Hesston seems to treat the hay a little genteler, but it doesn't dry as fast as the NH. We weren't tedding back then, just leaving in a windrow.
