Didn't even know 2000 ford e150 had this but tracing a big leak turned up this little thing like a radiator with hole punched in it from looks like screwdriver(another story). Temporarily bypassed with big loop of hose. Is it necessary or just a nice thing to make fluid last longer? Tempting not to replace it. Could I take temperature of fluid when hot and help decide. News to me for sure. Thanks a million all you mechanics out there. Dave
