Not a lot of grass this year here. I have a piece about 3 acres that I've got rented from the owners for the last 2 years. Neighbor used to mow it for them but would slack off when there was plenty of other grass (a lot of fruit trees on the property). was doing my loop to take care of the horses and saw the top of a tractor in a funny place. Went to look and there's the neighbor with a mower on frt and forage wagon on the back going thru the middle of my place. Asked what he was doing and he said cutting his grass. Told him that I had rent contracts and was paying insurance on all of it so it was my grass. He says, he didn't think I was gonna do any hay (with 18 horses to feed). Told him it was my choice to let it go to waste or put it up. I had a couple beers in the cooler and we indulged. He said "well, let me go get this unloaded". We were next to a pasture with horses in it so I said here, I'll get the gate for you. Coulda knocked him over with a feather but he drove in and unloaded it all for me in the pasture.
When he got home, I took him a pint of Jim Beam and he warmed up a little. I wouldn't have said anything and let him keep the little bit of grass but he already did the same thing to me on another place that I have.

She smoked terribly and never had much power but he couldn't afford another so he was limping along with what he had. Jon's Allis has a small front loader and though it doesn't carry much, it serves his needs. It was the hard starting and low power that made him think it was time to replace the old girl. Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
