I bought a Permatex 2 part epoxy repair pkg 2 weeks ago to patch my metal tank. I cleaned the tank off and found many pinholes. I took the epoxy stick and tore off about half of it. You are supposed to knead it in your hands until it is an even color and texture. It was very stiff and when I did get it a constant color, it would not stick to the tank. Since I had some, I used black permatex RTV silicon and smeared it on the pinholes and the surrounding area. I let it sit a day to cure. So far no leaks or smells. Hope it continues.
