G.H. Wendel's "Standard Catalog of Farm Tractors", States the Elgintractor was originally a Waite tractor from 1913 to 1916. In 1916 Waite was reorganized as Elgin Tractor in Elgin, Illinois and in 1917 was moved to Piqua, Ohio and ceased production in 1920.
Elgin was first produced as a 9-18 Hp tractor and rerated to 10-20 and later as a 12-25 Hp tractor.
Company used Buda,Rutenber and Erd engines.
If your tractor has the Elgin name, it was built between 1916 and 1920.
