I have heard a few times that that series of tractors had a tendency to not take throttle good. There is a thread on a 460 that is a couple days old; you may want to look at that. Also, I agree with RN that the carb probably needs cleaning. Take it off and pop a new needle, seat, and gasket in it. Also let the carb set awhile in carburetor cleaner to get the crud out of the jets and orifices. Good luck, SF
